The beat is remarkably more…refined than I’d say a lot of the tracks on Blank Banshee 0 were? The beat is darker, more eccentric, more listenable on the ears, even if I feel it is one of the less interesting songs here. We then get to Eco Zones, which you could call the first full song. I just feel as if its too short at points and repetitive to really come back to as a song. It features these plinky and twittering samples from Microsoft Longhorn (the beta version of what would become Windows Vista), as well as a…Rihanna sample, from her song “Diamonds”, that is also used semi-frequently throughout the album. Let’s see, shall we? Statsī:/Infinite Login, while not my favorite track on the record, is definitely a short and sweet starter for what is to come. Despite that, I was still curious to see what Blank Banshee would bring with his 2013 album over here. It’s a decent record a lot of highlights, but also as much filler and half-baked ideas. Now as it was my recent review, I should go in saying that my feelings were somewhat mixed on Blank Banshee 0. While not getting nearly as much attention from fans and getting no critic attention whatsoever, it was still a critical and commercial success in the vaporwave community for Blank Banshee, which many regarded as a continuation of his vaportrap stylings. That album would be this one right here, Blank Banshee 1, which continues but also ends the naming theme that Driscoll had going on at that point.
